Common questions

Do you have a conversation diary or cloud sync?
No. My People Note is a browser-only notebook focused on gifts, dining, allergies, and sizes—not daily chat logs, photos, or automatic sync. If you need those, a general people-notes app may fit better.
What happens to my data if I change phones?
People data lives only in each browser—it does not sync automatically. On the paid plan, export JSON on the old device, then re-authenticate your purchase on the new device (email OTP) and import. See the device transfer steps in Settings.
Is the free plan (up to 7 people) enough?
Within seven people, the free plan includes full profiles, the birthday banner, profile field search (excluding notes), gift adds (up to 3 per person), and 3 pins. Consider unlock for an eighth person, gift editing, note search, or unlimited JSON backup.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Open it in your browser and start. For quicker access, add it to your home screen as a PWA (browser menu: Add to Home Screen on iOS/Android)—no push notifications required.
When should I buy the one-time unlock?
Start free and see if it fits. Unlock when you need more than seven people, more than 3 gifts per person, gift edits, search in notes, or unlimited JSON backup before a device change—once in Settings, no subscription.
What if I clear browser data?
IndexedDB data cannot be recovered if you clear site data, reset the device, or remove the app from the iOS home screen. Free includes one JSON export per browser; paid adds unlimited export, import, and backup date reminders. Export before switching devices or re-adding the home screen icon.

Browser-only storage

My People Note stores profiles and gift history in your browser (IndexedDB) only. We do not send this personal data to our servers.

No account required

For paid features, we store your email and purchase status in Supabase for Stripe checkout and restore on other devices.

Export anytime as JSON

Clearing browser data or removing the app from the iOS home screen can erase local profiles. Paid users can back up via JSON export.
